Innovative membrane cells
The EWT Type 24 membrane electrolysis system continuously produces highly effective hypochlorous acid from natural salt. By physically separating the brine from the pool water circuit using a high-tech membrane, any increase in the salt content of the pool water is completely prevented.
The closed system feeds liquid active chlorine directly into your pipeline via a maintenance-free injector principle, operating autonomously in a bypass loop. Mechanical metering pumps are completely eliminated.

Here’s how it works
The synthesis loop
From simple evaporated salt to highly effective, crystal-clear bath water in three automated, safe steps.
1
Automatic brine formation
A saturated salt solution (brine) is produced in the 90-liter storage tank from ordinary, high-purity evaporated salt and bypass water. This process operates completely autonomously and under controlled conditions.
2
Electrochemical Splitting
The brine is fed into the membrane cell. Through the precise application of direct current and strict spatial separation by the membrane, high-purity, germicidal hypochlorous acid is produced.
3
Safe injection
Using a state-of-the-art injector principle, fresh active chlorine is drawn directly into the main flow by negative pressure. No vulnerable dosing pumps, no residues in the pool water.
Flexible application
Areas of application
Private outdoor pools
Crystal-clear outdoor pool water. By avoiding harsh chlorine chemicals and eliminating pungent fumes, you can enjoy pure, unadulterated swimming fun in your garden.
Private indoor pools
Air quality is crucial, especially in enclosed spaces. Precise dosing prevents the formation of combined chlorine (chloramines)—ensuring a perfect indoor climate without that typical swimming pool smell.
Therapy pool
The formulation creates an exceptionally mild environment that is gentle on the skin and eyes. It is ideally suited for daily medical use and for sensitive user groups.
Hot tubs & spas
Reliable water hygiene despite high temperatures and strong turbulence. The electrolysis cell delivers reliably constant protection in the demanding spa sector.

System components
Optional extensions
Modul 01
Double dosage
Control and disinfect two separate water circuits using just a single control unit. Ideally suited for the fully automatic, simultaneous servicing of a large outdoor pool and a separate wellness whirlpool.
Modul 02
Marble gravel container
Protect valuable materials sustainably. When using low-calcium or very soft fill water, the compact bypass module ensures continuous, chemical-free stabilization of carbonate hardness and prevents acid damage.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ on the Type 24 Membrane Electrolysis System
How often does the salt need to be refilled?
The Type 24 consumes up to 3 kg of salt per day during continuous operation. The salt is automatically dispensed from a 90-liter reservoir, meaning that in practice, refilling is required only at longer intervals rather than daily.
What distinguishes membrane electrolysis from conventional salt electrolysis?
In conventional salt electrolysis, the entire pool water is salted and electrolyzed directly, leading to a noticeable increase in salinity. With EWT membrane electrolysis, the brine is completely separated from the pool water circuit by a membrane; only the finished active chlorine enters the pool.
Does the water smell of chlorine?
Precise dosing prevents the formation of combined chlorine (chloramines), which is responsible for the typical pungent swimming pool odor.
For which pool size is the Type 24 suitable?
The Type 24 is designed for private outdoor pools, indoor pools, therapy pools, and whirlpools. For larger private pools, we recommend the Type 48; for professional use, the Type 100.
Can the system be retrofitted into an existing pool system?
Yes, the system is suitable for both new installations and the retrofitting of existing filter systems, and it can be integrated into existing piping via the injector principle in a bypass arrangement.
Is the system suitable for sensitive skin or therapy pools?
The controlled synthesis creates a mild environment that is gentle on the skin and eyes, free from chloramines and without increasing salinity. Also suitable for therapy pools and sensitive user groups.
